The Palestinian International Organization for Peace and Human Rights (PIOPH) is committed to protecting individual privacy and maintaining the security of personal information provided by users on our website, our social media pages, our offices and our working teams. Your visit to our website constitutes acceptance of the provisions set forth in this policy.
How the organization uses your personal information
It is your choice to provide information; when you take certain actions on our website – such as making a donation, subscribing to our newsletter, filling out a form to register your interest in our activities, or applying for a job opportunity – you provide us with personal information about yourself, such as your name, email address, postal address, and other information.
The organization will only contact you for purposes related to its procedures and business, and you can request to remove your name from our mailing list at any time.
By using personal data such as your email address, you will receive personalized information on social media platforms, this data is not stored or reused by service providers.
Sharing your personal information
We may share your personal data with:
(1) Our agents or service providers, including advertising agencies or social media companies, who perform services on our behalf for the purpose of sending you communication content in connection with the Organization’s activities, or to conduct direct marketing or complete your donations.
(2) Our local partners who help us collect donations or implement activities. Under no circumstances will any information regarding the individual’s privacy be exchanged. Rather, we will always keep your information safe, and we will not sell or exchange any information with any other party.
Opt out of the mailing list
Users who provide their email address and/or donate through the Organization’s website and opt in to receive emails from the Organization will receive the e-newsletter and other updates via email. We may also occasionally communicate via direct mail, telephone and SMS. Each email from the Commission includes an option to remove your address from the mailing list. You may also remove your name from the mailing list by sending an email to: ps@pioph.com
User Responsibilities
The organization may ask its stakeholders and community to share their photos and videos with the public on its sites, and this type of material is considered “user-generated content.”
Users of our Site understand that such Content is treated as non-proprietary and non-confidential. If you send such material to us via email, tag content on social media or through a specially designed upload site, you grant us an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right to use, reproduce, modify and publish such resources elsewhere on our Sites and publications. In addition, you grant us the right to use the name you submit in connection with such material. However, the Content remains yours and you may continue to use it in any way you wish and permit others to use it as well.
If you upload or share your material on the Organization’s website or on one of its social media accounts, it may be used by our website or social media accounts worldwide.
When we ask our community to share content with us, we explain how we intend to use it. Most often, we reshare it on our social media or on our sites. We may also use the content you share with us as promotional material for the organization if appropriate. In this case, we will try to contact you to discuss whether you are happy with this and to ask how you would like the content to be attributed to you.
The Organization does not pay or receive any revenue from the sale or licensing of user-generated content.
Content Upload Terms
When you submit content or share materials with the Organization, you must only submit/share your own original content. If your content includes the work(s) of others (e.g. music, photos, and/or video), you must obtain the necessary rights or permission to use such materials.
Where your content clearly features other persons, you will need to ensure that those persons have consented to the use of the content by the organisation. Where your content clearly features children under the age of 16, you will need to ensure that their parents or guardians have consented to the above.
The organization also requires you not to submit or share any materials or information:
- You know in advance that it is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, indecent, threatening, invasive of anyone’s privacy, or otherwise unlawful;
- you do not own or have obtained all necessary licenses and/or approvals in connection therewith that are required by law;
- is technically harmful (including, without limitation, files that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other software that may interrupt the operation of another person’s computer); or
- Impersonate any person or entity or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with any party or entity.
- Delete all author attributions, legal notices, proprietary designations or labels from any file that is uploaded;
- falsify the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded;
- Promote or offer for sale any goods or services, or conduct or forward surveys, contests, or chain letters, or download any file posted by another user of the Organization’s Sites that you understand or should understand depending on the territory cannot be legally distributed in such manner.
Any inappropriate content will be rejected or removed from our website and social media accounts. If you are in any doubt about the suitability of any material, please do not share it with us. If you post or transmit to any of our websites any material that is prohibited by the above paragraphs or any applicable laws and regulations, and the organization incurs any costs, expenses, liability or losses as a result, you agree to indemnify us against all costs, expenses, liability or losses.
Please note that we may disclose your identity (or any information we hold about you) to any third party who claims that any such material violates any of their rights or to any government or regulatory authority that may require the organization to do so.
Upload content to social networks
If you upload content to a social network and tag the organization, what you share will be subject to that site’s terms of use and privacy policy. Please note that that site’s terms and privacy policy may differ from ours regarding the submission of content.

We will review or update this policy if our practices change, or as we develop better ways to inform you. Changes to this policy are effective from the date they are posted on our website and are not retroactive.
