On March 30, 2025, the blockade on humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip continued for the fourth consecutive week, according to the human rights report published that date. This occurred amidst dwindling food and medical supplies and ongoing attacks targeting populated areas.
Humanitarian repercussions
The prolonged supply disruption affects the regularity of daily meals and the prices of available materials, and increases the burden on families who have lost their sources of income or have been forced to flee multiple times.
Rights and legal protection
International humanitarian law regulates the protection of materials essential for the survival of the civilian population, prohibits starvation as a method of warfare, and obliges parties to comply with rules for humanitarian access.
Protection and monitoring methods
Restoring a regular flow of food and medicine, and supporting aid distribution facilities, are prerequisites to avoid exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
